Store Aisle Mapping

Store aisle mapping keeps a shopping list in an order that matches how you move through a store. A mapping connects an item category to an aisle number, with optional prefix and suffix text.

Start With a Template

When you create a shopping list, choose a store template if one is available. The template supplies an initial set of category-to-aisle mappings for that list. Changes you make after creation apply to your list and do not alter the original template.

Manage Aisles

  1. Open Shopping List.
  2. Open the Shopping List menu.
  3. Choose Manage Shopping List Aisles.
  4. Add, edit, or remove category mappings.
  5. Save your changes.

Choose a clear category name and a nonnegative aisle number. Use a prefix or suffix when your store needs extra sorting context, such as a department name or section letter.

Map an Individual Item

Open an item from the shopping list and choose the category that matches its location. The item inherits the category's aisle details, then appears in the appropriate group on the active list.

Keep Mappings Useful

  • Prefer one category per department, such as Produce, Dairy, or Baking.
  • Use the same category spelling each time.
  • Update a category's aisle when the store changes its layout rather than remapping each item one by one.
  • Review Unassigned items before a shopping trip so they do not collect at the beginning of the list.
